PreCanSkate

A program designed for our youngest skaters who are new to the ice. PreCanSkate gets skaters ready for the CanSkate program by teaching them to move forward, backwards, get up unassisted, turn, and stop. This program is offered with the help of Program Assistants.

CanSkate

CanSkate offers the best curriculum in Canada to learn to skate. Conducted in a fun, friendly environment, this program consists of 6 stages which are divided into Balance, Control, and Agility skills. Millions of Canadians, including world and Olympic figure skating champions and National Hockey League stars, have taken their first steps on the ice with the CanSkate program. This program is delivered by professional skating coaches

JR STAR (STAR Development)

If a skater has passed Stage 4 CanSkate and shows an interest in Figure Skating they will be invited into this program. The skater will continue to work on CanSkate Stage 5 and 6 with a professional coach for most but not all of the time. The coaching time helps them to progress with figure skating skills, and when not in a lesson the skater is expected to work on their own to improve their skills. This program is designed to help transition skaters to STARSkate where figure skating fundamentals are taught.

STARSkate

SKILLS, TESTS, ACHIEVEMENT, RECOGNITION

STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the area of ICE DANCE, SKATING SKILLS, FREE SKATE, and ARTISTIC skating. This program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive sequential manner. Skaters have the opportunity to compete and take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system

STAR 1-5

The STAR 1-5 program offers best in class figure skating curriculum in Canada, targeting athletes looking for a future in the sport. Taught by Skate Canada NCCP coaches the program introduces participants to the basic figure skating elements to create the foundation for singles, pairs, ice dance, and synchronized skating. All skaters must have passed CanSkate Stage 6.

STAR 6- GOLD

STAR 6 - GOLD is an assessment and event structure for skaters who have completed the STAR 1-5 program. The structure builds on the skills acquired in STAR 1-5 and introduces skaters to more advances figure skating elements.

*Please note - Coaching for semi private and private lessons is not included in registration fee. Coaches will invoice skaters monthly for time spent coaching. STAR assessment fees are also not included in registration fees. Coaches will let you know the fee amount before assessments are completed.
